Jesmonite Care Instructions
All my coasters and placemats have been coated with a penetrating sealer & flexiguard coating to provide stain resistance against many liquids and environmental contaminants, and protection against water and oil.
They should be treated the same way as any marble/stonework/word surfaces. If there are any spillages, I recommend wiping them as soon as possible with a damp cloth and drying after. If spillages are left to completely dry in then there may be some staining after cleaning however they can be refreshed by sanding back and recoating which is a service I offer for a small fee however hopefully shouldn't be required!
My coasters and placemats are designed to last and are reinforced with fibre glass strands to strengthen them. While I don’t recommend dropping them on hard surfaces, I have done so before and they often survive undamaged. Accidents happen though so if you do have an unfortunate incident and your coaster or placemat gets chipped, cracked or damaged, don’t bin them! Get in touch with me to discuss my repair and refresh services to either restore your pieces to their former glory or embrace the art of repair with my visible mending options similar to Kintsugi.
